SPRINGDALE COMMUNITY LIBRARY
SPRINGDALE, ARKANSAS
The Springdale Community Library provides an interactive, playful connection between the existing bike parks on site and the addition of the library. The interactive landscape was inspired by the inverse of the curved slope forms of the bike park ramps. The overall form of the architecture extends this design further by establishing a continuation of the undulating form of both the building and the ground surfaces that mimics the interactive landscape.
The structural layout of the interior wood lattice ceiling is extended to the layout of the triangulated metal panels of the roof system. By studying the curved apertures and entrances, the roof is folded into the opening to create one continued surface along the building facade.
