The Mar Vista High Density Housing design began with the desire for a strong sense of community within the historical Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. This design incorporates two single-loaded buildings with perforated metal panel facades that define an open outdoor space for the Mar Vista community members to enjoy.

This design creates a focus on the need for outdoor spaces, while implementing a facade screen that would protect the residents from harsh daylighting and preserve their privacy by blending the residential balconies into the facade.
